you are lightgoldenrodyellow
#FAFAD2

Your dominant hues are red and green, so you're definately not afraid to get in and stir things up. You have no time for most people's concerns, you'd rather analyze with your head than be held back by some random "gut feeling".

Your saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate wasting energy making everyone else think you're working.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

rain at last [Sep. 12th, 2003|12:42 pm]
After seven weeks of not a drop of moisture, we had two inches of wonderful, soft, refreshing rain last night. In spite of all the world's troubles, at least some things are good today.

early morning, late summer [Sep. 8th, 2003|09:36 am]
Ground fog covers the fields like a ragged blanket; trees and tall shrubs poke through. The lakes give off wisps of steam that remind me of simmering cauldrons.

rant about bad cheap food [Aug. 28th, 2003|10:31 am]
I have been keeping a bag of dried apricots at work to munch on. Yesterday when I bought groceries, I picked up a store-brand package instead of Sunmaid, because it was about 30% cheaper. I opened the bag this morning, and they are not very good. In fact, they smell and taste nowhere near as good as the more expensive ones, to the point where I think I will have to throw them out. And what is more, the smell of them is clinging to my hands and won't wash off. It is distressing to be so spoiled by the availabiity of good food that I am unable to eat food of poorer quality.

Tomorrow I will go to the MN State Fair, where I will eat bad cheap food on a stick.

so where have the last two months gone? [Jul. 25th, 2003|12:06 pm]
Sort of like this: Marching band, marching band, folk dance, marching band, folk dance, get ready for county fair, county fair, county fair, county fair, get daughter off to camp, sleep.
Now both kids are away at camp (one as counselor, one as camper) and we are empty-nesting for four weeks. So far it's not too bad.

My husband is even more famous now.
His business was the subject of an article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
